David Sanborn was important, not just because of the records he released or even the numerous sessions that he played on, though that is part of the story.
Very nice tribute, Marshall. Thank you. At Sanborn's passing I was turned on to one of his albums, Another Hand, which is more straight ahead jazz, called Another Hand but that still includes the signature Sanborn sound and a band of jazz all-stars. It's deep and beautiful. In 2013 he released another jazz album with Bob James, called Quartette Humaine that's one of my top jazz favorites with a lot of positive energy. He's also featured on Bobby Hutcherson's final album from 2014, Enjoy the View. Sanborn had a career that most jazz musicians would envy.
David Sanborn"s flow is the backdrop to the thoughts and feelings of my everyday life.
Hi. I was wondering if I could cross post this on the WNXC Full Soectrum Journal and invite you to record it to include in our Live365 stream?
100%, yes on the cross post. Contact me directly about the live stream…
