In Ten Tracks is not a best of or greatest hits or even necessarily a list of favorites. They're songs by an artist that stuck with me for various reasons through the years. Mix tape/playlist staples.
He also performed “The Man Who Sold the World” that night, in a Bauhaus-inspired plastic tuxedo. One of my favorite Bowie performances — Nomi and Arias had to lift him off the ground and place him in front of the mic because he couldn't move in the costume!
Outside of his more popular music (and Blackstar, which I thoroughly enjoyed), I don’t know that much of Bowie’s work, so this excellent deeper dive into some of his music was fantastic, thank you!
Great list! "TVC15" and "DJ" are two of my go-tos as well. I also really loved "Boys Keep Swinging" and his cover of the Pixies song "Cactus" he did on the Heathen album.
Great songs! I loved his performances of 'Boys Keep Swinging' and 'TVC15' on SNL with Klaus Nomi and (I think) Joey Arias. Amazing stuff.
